Description

Leadership skills for the young

The "Get an Edge" Youth Leadership Programme in Invercargill has so far been a huge success. This programme offers teenagers an opportunity to develop personal and group skills in a programme which combines recreation, education and fun.

Junior Youth Leadership Programme

There is also a programme run for 11 to 12 year olds. This is run through selected schools, during school time Contact your school today to see if this programme is available for your child or contact the YMCA youth leadership manager.

Four levels (Out of school programmes)

The programme runs on four levels the starting age is 12-13yrs for level 1 and 13-16yrs for levels 2 and 3. A level 4 is also available, but participants must have completed levels 2 and 3 to be eligible.

Session Durations

Each session runs for approximately 1.5 hours per week.

Level Duration

Each level runs for a year.

Fees

Programmes cost $150 per level, plus there will be a small camp fee (Some camp fees will be fundraised) * Easy pay options and some scholarships are available.

'Request a Registration' - Form

How to request a 'Get an Edge' registration form

There are 2 different ways for you to obtain the registration form, which then needs to be signed and sent back to us:
  1. By phoning Saskia at (03) 218-2989 Ext.1 and requesting an GET AN EDGE registration form (we can then send you the registration form via email or regular mail).
  2. By calling in at our reception desk, at 77 Tay Street (Opposite the Civic Theatre)

You can have the registration form sent to you via email

If you have a valid email address simply contact us and we will send you the form. Then simply send it back to us.
